About: About

More than the basics.

People first want their dog to have good training, sit, down, stay,  place, heel, and most importantly come, but after that what? you have a good dog but they are no longer challenged by you saying "sit". My favorite training was always teaching pets things that service dogs or working canines have to learn before they can ever show up to work! Known as "working tasks" these could include any sort of complicated behavior that can make life a bit more fun, like your dog could retrieve a drink for you, Use their nose to follow a specific humans odor,  identify a specific ingredient in food if you are allergic,  or even train them to go turn the lights on or off.

My Training Style

A balanced dog trainer is a professional who uses a combination of positive reinforcement and corrective techniques to train dogs. This approach is focused on developing a well-rounded dog that is both obedient and well-behaved, while also being happy and healthy.

At the core of balanced dog training is a deep understanding of canine behavior and psychology. Balanced trainers use positive reinforcement techniques, such as treats and praise, to reward good behavior and encourage dogs to learn and obey commands. They also use corrective techniques, such as leash corrections and e-collars, to discourage unwanted behaviors and establish clear boundaries.

One of the key benefits of balanced training is that it can be tailored to meet the specific needs of individual dogs. This approach recognizes that different dogs have different personalities and temperaments, and that training techniques must be adapted to suit each individual dog's needs.

As a balanced dog trainer, I believe in treating each dog with respect, compassion, and kindness. I am committed to helping dogs develop good habits and behaviors in a way that is positive and rewarding for them. I work closely with dog owners to understand their goals and objectives, and to develop a customized training plan that meets their specific needs.

Above all, I care deeply about the well-being of dogs. I understand that dogs are not just pets, but members of the family, and that their happiness and health are of utmost importance. Through balanced training, I am able to help dogs become better companions, and to create stronger, more rewarding relationships between dogs and their owners.

Who is Gideon

A Man With a Passion For Dogs

For as long as I can remember I have had a passion for working with animals, Growing up I cared for friends' and neighbors' pets. As soon as I graduated high school moved to Boston and ended out applying to a PetCo nearby where I got trained and began training their style I loved the work but with only limited training, I wanted to learn more. I went to North Carolina to attend Highland Canine's School for Dog Trainers one of the country's most rigorous dog training programs where I learned more about working dogs, pet dogs, and service dogs than I even knew existed.

The school I attended has a specialty for teaching behavior modification. This gave me experience with dogs that struggled with lots of different fears and unfavorable tendencies like resource guarding, dominance aggression, and lots of learned aggression.
